Stewed black beans
Black beans is called “Kuromame” in Japan.Because black is effective in the talisman against evil, Japanese eat the stewed black beans mainly for New Year holidays.It is traditional Japanese food.The dish simmered in black soybean is one of the New Year dishes, but always stays till the last.
Ingredients
- 200g black bean
- 1200cc water
- 200g sugar
- 2 tbsp(30ml) soy sauce
- 1 tbp(5ml) salt
Directions
- Rinse the balck beans.
- Put the water, sugar, soy sauce, salt into a pot and heat.Once it starts to boil, add the black beans. Stop the heat, put a lid on.Leave overnight.
- After leave overnight, heat once again.Once it starts to boil, heat over low heat for 3 hours.
