Sweet potato which has been sweetened and boiled
It is a cooking method in which food is sweetened while it is being boiled.It is one of the recipes of traditional Japanese food.I cooked the sweetened and boiled using the sweet potato this time.The sweet potato of the present time is sweet and is very yummy.
- 1 sweet potato
- 2 cup(400ml) water
- 1 tbsp(15ml) sugar
- salt, to your taste
- 1/2 tbsp(7.5ml) mirin(sweet sake)
- Leave the skin on the sweet potato and slice it into discs 1 inch thick.
- Soak it in water for 10 minutes.Drain well.
- Combine water, sugar and sweet potato in a flying pan.
- Cover with a drop lid and heat.
- Bring to a boil.Turn heat to medium and simmer for 10 minutes.When half-cooked add salt, mirin and simmer another 10 minutes until tender.
